DUI First Offense

The Good News:

Many first offense DUIs, if intelligently handled, thoroughly investigated and prepared by an experienced DUI Attorney and his Defense Team, will not proceed all the way to a Jury Trial.

(Obviously every case is unique, especially DUIs, and we cannot and do not guarantee any outcome.)

Better News:

If you have a very difficult DUI that must be tried, rest assured that you are in good hands.  Peter Brown has tried numerous cases to not guilty verdicts in both Circuit Court and Magistrate’s Court over the last thirty (30) years.

Team Effort:

As you have seen in other sections of this website, such as “The DUI Process,” the defense of a DUI is an ongoing investigative effort by the Defense Team. That effort relies heavily upon knowledge of existing case law and procedure while matching that knowledge to the specific facts of your case.

Our experienced attorney and staff will work diligently to assist you throughout the process. If necessary, we will gladly help you recover your vehicle, obtain your Temporary Alcohol Restricted License (TARL), handle your Administrative Hearing or help you enroll in ADSAP.

As your Court date approaches, we will provide representation for you at all of your Court appearances, Pre-Trial Conferences and Motion Hearings.  Of course we will handle all the negotiations with the prosecuting agency and/or their attorney.

If necessary, we will prepare and represent you at Trial as we have done for clients for the past thirty (30) years throughout the States of South Carolina and Georgia.

It is important that you seek the assistance of experienced trial counsel to at least understand the legal process and the consequences of any decisions you make.

A DUI conviction affects one’s criminal record while exposing the individual to potential incarceration and large fines, in addition to the suspension of driving privileges and the requirement of costly (SR-22) insurance and possible mandatory placement of an Ignition Interlock Device (IID).
